How To Sparkle Your Way Through The Silly Season

At this time of year looking and feeling radiant is top of mind as the weather begins to get warmer and the days longer. As the layers come off and we enter the party season how do you maintain your shine? Here are some quick tips to help you maintain sparkle your way through the festive season and beyond.

  • Shine comes from the inside out so make a conscious effort to look after yourself and choose nourishing foods when you’re in control. You may choose to start the day with a green smoothie or juice, have a nourishing lunch and a snack before you go out in the evening.
  • Many people tend to over consume alcohol in the evening when they’re both hungry and thirsty. If you’re drinking more than usual you may wish to take St Mary’s Thistle a herb that supports optimal liver function.
  • When dining out simple substitutions can make a world of difference. Don’t be afraid to ask the wait staff how a sauce is prepared, or if you can make substitutions. Swap fried for grilled and roasted for fresh. Always order extra greens or vegetables on the side of your meal to fill up on a nourishing choice.
  • Give your adrenal glands a break during a stressful season and swap caffeinated coffee for green tea. Green tea is full of potent antioxidants and also contains a small amount of caffeine to keep any withdrawal symptoms at bay.   • It’s also important to keep moving. Make a commitment to get up 30 minutes earlier to go for a walk with the rising sun. It can make the world of difference to your energy and appearance.
  • It is what you do most of the time that impacts your health, not what you do some of the time. Approach your health from a place of kindness. If you have a big night out or you overindulged at dinner, treat tomorrow as a new day – you haven’t “ruined” anything.
  •  Remember that we have so much for which to feel grateful. Even if you are going through a tough time, or your To Do list is constantly growing you still have bucket-loads of things to feel grateful about. What you focus on is what you feel so focus on what you feel grateful for every day – and watch yourself glow from the inside out.
