We all love technology until something goes wrong and then . . . well . . . we don’t. In fact, there’s nothing more frustrating than wasting hours trying to sort out a tricky tech problem that should be a quick fix. Am I right? Whether it’s getting your emails to sync to your new phone, setting up a new computer or like me, wondering why your phone keeps flicking over to 3G and sucking up your data when you’re at home and supposed to be enjoying free WiFi!

But trouble-shooting your tech problems – big and small – just got a whole lot easier thanks to Noel Leeming’s in-home tech solutions. I’ve just teamed up with Noel Leeming to try out this fab new service and I’ve not only sorted out my unreliable WiFi but learned a few new game-changing tech tricks along the way too.  So if you want to sort your tricky tech problems out once and for all keep reading and scroll down to the bottom of the page to enter to win my favourite new tech gadget – a super cool video doorbell.

I booked a free in-home consultation with a Noel Leeming tech expert to get to the bottom of why my Wi-Fi was so patchy despite having super high-speed broadband.  It turns out the modem supplied by my ISP was never going to be grunty enough to deliver a strong signal throughout my home. If I’d gone into store on my own I’d probably have bought a couple of WiFi extenders instead of what I really needed to fix my problem which is a better modem set up. So I was recommended a Netgear Orbi System which is basically the smartest way to enjoy high-speed WiFi in every corner of your home – hallelujah!

So if you’re looking to upgrade your home appliances (anything from a new computer to a smart TV or new kitchen appliances to suit your lifestyle and your budget) then definitely book a free In-Home Consultation first.

They’ll even mount your TV on the wall for you if that’s what you’d like – pretty cool right?

While my biggest issue was my dodgy WiFi (which turned out to be an easy fix) I was also really keen to upgrade my 15-year-old flat screen TV to a Smart TV. BUT and it’s a big but, I discovered I’d be wasting my money upgrading unless I sorted my intermittent WiFi out first – something I would never have known if I hadn’t had an in-home consultation. Glad I didn’t find this out the hard way!

My tech solutions expert Josh Tait also brought some cool gadgets to show me. My favourite tech gadget is the Ring Video Doorbell (enter to win one below) which allows you to see, hear and speak to your visitors via an app on your phone. The beauty of this is that even if you’re not home the doorbell will still ring on your phone and your visitor will never know if you’re at home or not. How flipping cool is that?

Josh also thought the TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi Plug might be handy for me because it allows you to control any device plugged into it via your phone! Josh uses one to turn his own electric blanket on and off but I’d love one for my hair straighteners so I could turn them off remotely on those days when I’ve rushed out the door and possibly forgotten.

He also suggested our family may benefit from an Amazon Echo that is basically a bluetooth speaker with its own voice-activated Siri but her name is Alexa. You can ask Alexa to play your favourite song on Spotify or find out about the weather and pretty much anything else you need to know. Cool right?

Above: Josh offered up solutions to my tech problems and gave me lots of ideas to up-spec my home without any obligation to buy anything.

Above: My WiFi signal test showed that the modem supplied to me by my ISP wasn’t ever going to be powerful enough to give me quality Wi-Fi through-out my home. No wonder there were so many “dead” spots in my house.
