How To Score Free Makeup When You’re Broke AF

Free makeup may sound like a pie-in-the-sky idea but there really is a way to score makeup without having to splash any cash. We all know what it’s like when the beauty bug bites but your budget simply won’t stretch that far. So we’ve uncovered a way to feed your addition without spending a cent.

Many big beauty brands and beauty retailers offer free makeup throughout the year – you just need to know where to find it. Oh and we’re talking about more than just free makeup samples; think free, full-sized lipsticks, face masks and even gift cards to blow on the beauty products of your choice.

Here, are a few of our faves.

If your bank account is as empty as the M.A.C. beauty products on your bathroom counter, then you may be surprised to hear that you can exchange your empties for a free lipstick of your choice thanks to the brand’s  Back-to-M.A.C. Program. Think of it as an exchange program that’s environmentally – and wallet – friendly.

Lush Cosmetics’ 5-Pot Program lets you exchange five empty product “pots” for one of the brand’s Fresh Face Masks.

The Sephora Beauty Pass allows you to earn points, receive discount vouchers and nab free welcome and birthday surprises when you sign up.

Tarte Cosmetic’s Pretty Perks token program is another loyalty system that allows you to redeem accumulated points on free product. If you haven’t tried Tarte products before then you’re in for a real treat. Their Amazonian Clay eyeshadow palettes are A-mazing.

If you sign up to the Farmers Club Rewards program you’ll earn at least 1 point for every $10 you spend across the entire store (except on Beauty where you’ll earn 1 point for every $1 you spend) For every $200 points you ear you will get a $20 reward.

Beauty Bliss is another local website that offers Beauty Bliss Reward Points. You can even earn these points by writing reviews on their products. And just like the other rewards programs you can redeem your points on free products – winning!

Signing up to a website’s newsletter will often get you an immediate discount. She Lives Cruelty Free offers a 10% discount off your first order when you sign up to their newsletter. Often these offers pop up when you first log onto a website so instead of quickly clicking off them, it’s often worth taking a few seconds to read the offer. You may not get free product but you will save money.

Do you know of any other great ways to score free makeup products? We’d love to hear about them in the comments below.
