Leona Lewis collaborates with The Body Shop on Cruelty-Free cosmetics

British singer Leona Lewis has partnered with cruelty-free beauty brand, The Body Shop, on a limited-edition collection. That’s the good news. The bad news is we have to wait until July (New Zealand) until we can get our hands on it.

Lewis, who won the third season of the U.K. version of “The X Factor” in 2006, worked with The Body Shop to create two Shimmer Palettes, four lip glosses, a blusher brush and a fragrance available as an eau de toilette and an eau de parfum — all of which have been produced in line with the brand’s cruelty-free approach. As a part of the collaboration, Lewis is encouraging The Body Shop customers to sign a pledge in-stores to support Cruelty Free International’s push for a global ban on animal testing for cosmetic purposes. Of the collection and initiative Lewis said:

I’m passionate about beauty, and I’m all about animal rights and Community Fair Trade…The fact is that there are alternative tests that are far more superior to testing on animals. It’s a cruel, barbaric and an unnecessary process. This cruelty can end if we speak out loud enough and I urge everyone to sign this pledge.

You go girl!
