HELP! I’m sick and my Nike 10K run is this Saturday

Desperate times call for desperate measures and I’m . . . well . . . DESPERATE! As you may know I’ve been training for the Nike She Runs The Night 10K race in Sydney this Saturday night and I’m getting SICK! You know how it rolls? Your throat starts feeling scratchy, your neck gets sore and your head feels likes it’s turned to cotton wool. Grrrrrrr – it’s super annoying to be this close to the big race and to be feeling so lousy.

While it’s tempting to start feeling sorry for myself I just don’t have time. I need to get myself sorted and fast. I need a medical intervention.

That’s where you guys come in. Do you have any great tips for staving off the flu?

I’m willing to give anything ago – within reason of course.

As I’m sitting here writing this I’m feeling extra bad because I’m supposed to be heading to Nike Britomart for my last She Runs training run and instead I’m stuck here feeling blah. According to my Nike Training schedule I should be doing two more runs between now and Wednesday and then tapering (which basically means not doing any training) before Saturday. Looks like I’ll be tapering earlier than planned. Yikes!

So I’d love any great tips and advice you may have to help me stave off this cold so I’m 10K fighting fit by Saturday?

Got any clever ideas?

Please share them with me in the comments below. Meanwhile, I’ll be here “tapering”.
