I had a bit of a fangirl moment this week when I met my favourite Kiwi YouTube star Shannon Harris (aka Shaaanxo) at a Benefit beauty launch.

It’s probably not exactly cool to admit that I was excited to meet Shannon but hey I was. She’s got almost a million subscribers to her YouTube channel which I think is super impressive.

It’s not surprising though because she really does make some of the best beauty tutorials online – truly. If you haven’t checked out her channel (and I’m sure you probably have) check it out here.

I was also thrilled to meet one of Shannon’s BFFs and fellow beauty YouTuber Sally Jo.

Both girls were totally lovely and definitely worth subscribing to – if you don’t already.

Enough of the fangirling and back to beauty.

The Benefit team asked media to meet at Auckland’s Sky City under the big bungy jump thing. Within minutes Benefit’s very own Spy Girl jumped off the top of the tower (pretty cool huh?) to greet us all at the bottom.

Once safely on the ground “Spy Girl” lead us across the road to a secret location to launch a fab new Benefit product called POREfessional Agent Zero Shine which is a new invisible shine-control powder which not only controls shine (surprise surprise) but also smooths the look of pores.

The coolest thing about this new product (which launches in NZ next month) is the packaging. It has a little screw cap that stops the powder spilling everywhere and a small brush that screws into the end of the container for on-the-go touch-ups – genius!

The very next day Benefit hosted a Blogger-only event at Auckland’s Smith & Caugheys to launch Lollitint – a soft candy-colored pink tint that will be joining Benefit’s other cult lip and cheek stains.

I’ve had a little play with the product and I love it – which is saying a lot because I’m not a pink girl at all. But this new tint adjusts to all skin tones so basically it suits everyone (gotta love that).

Anyway, the daughter and niece of Benefit founders, Annie Ford Danielson, had flown over from the US especially to attend both launches. Not only was she super tall but she was super nice too.

So it was a fun-filled, spy-filled, fangirl kinda week and that’s why I love my job!

Have you had any fan girl moments?

I’ve love to hear about them in the comments below.

Go on you know you want to share it with us  🙂
