DIY collar necklace

My Inspiration

These cute little jewelled-collar necklaces are everywhere at the moment and I love the way they transform a simple t-shirt or jersey into something a little more special.

After digging around in my craft goodies I found this little jewelled collar that I bought ages ago from Spotlight for a couple of dollars.

I then rummaged around in my old jewellery box to find some hardware to turn my collar into a necklace. Within a few minutes I had a very inexpensive on-trend necklace. That’s my kind of craft project.

I made two small holes in the ends of the jewelled collar with a large needle. The holes only needed to be big enough to fit the metal fastenings through. With my trusty pliers I tightened up the fastenings and attached the link chain.

Voila – my cheap Spotlight collar was transformed into a brand new necklace.

I’m probably wearing it a little too high in this shot but the chain gives you the option of wearing your necklace at whatever length you choose.
