DISCOVER MY LIP-SMACKING NEW BEAUTY FAVE AND WIN
I’ve always been a bit of a lip balm junkie. In fact, I’ve usually got two or six floating around in my handbag at any one time and if there’s a new balm on the market then I’ve just gotta try it. That’s why I was thrilled to recently discover Carmex – a fab new multi-use balm that’s recently arrived in New Zealand. While it may be a new discovery for me these little yellow tubes have been enjoying cult status in the US for over seventy-years. Here’s a little bit more info on my favourite new beauty find. Oh and don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page to win some to try yourself.
WHAT DOES CARMEX DO?
Treats dry and cracked lips and used every day it will keep lips moisturised and prevent them from drying and cracking.
WHAT’S IN IT?
Menthol – Kills germs and relieves discomfort: Has Anesthetic properties and helps soothe discomfort, elicits a cool, refreshing sensation.
Camphor – Alleviates pain: also acts as a mild local anesthetic and antimicrobial agent against germs, helping to promote healing.
Salicylic Acid – Exfoliates and relieves pain: improves overall texture of lips by promoting a very mild exfoliation of the outermost layer of the lip, enabling other ingredients to more effectively penetrate.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It’s soothing base of cocoa butter and waxes help to condition and moisturise the lips while the active ingredients have anesthetic and antimicrobial properties. So it treats, soothes and protects. Make-up artists love it as a base under lipstick. Not tested on animals. It’s a “treatment” for lips and is not waxy like many other brands.
WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
Famous for the “Carmex Tingle” which is a cooling, refreshing slight tingling sensation when first applied.
WHAT ELSE CAN IT BE USED FOR?
• Rub under nose and menthol will help clear a blocked nose
• Use on cuts, grazes and dry skin
• Smooth flyaway hairs
• Use to moisturise dry skin on feet and elbows
• The Camex Rush – skiers use it on their eyelids
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
It starts from $4.99.
In New Zealand there are currently four Carmex products available. The original flavor in a jar, tube and stick (with SPF15) and a strawberry flavoured stick (with SPF15).
Carmex is the perfect everyday beauty essential for keeping your lips in tip top shape. I mean there’s no point splashing out on an expensive lippie if your lips are dry, cracked and flaking.
Carmex is sold in New Zealand at selected pharmacies and Farmers stores nationwide, BP service stations and mybeautystore.com.
