Delicious Nut Butter Made Easy PLUS Win!

Nut Butters are not only super easy to make but they’re far more cost-effective than buying ready made butter and they taste divine too. So to celebrate the release of Tasti’s handy new nut packets I decided to share a few of my favourite tried-and-tested nut butter recipes below. The best part is there’s no measuring cup needed because the Tasti nuts are all pre-packed in either two cup or two-and-a-half cup packets – winning!

RECIPES

VANILLA CINNAMON NUT BUTTER

  • 1 packet Tasti Almonds (2 cups)
  • 1 packet Tasti Brazil Nuts (2 cups)
  • 1 packet Tasti Raw Cashews (2 cups)
  • 4 Tbs maple syrup
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste (or extract)
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Mix together all ingredients then transfer to a baking paper lined oven tray. Roast in the oven at 180 degrees for around 10 minutes or until slightly brown and fragrant. When cool, transfer nuts to a food processor and process on high until smooth and creamy. This process usually takes around 10-15 minutes. I stop my food processor every few minutes to give it a rest and to scrape the nut butter down from the sides of the processor. Be patient and resist the urge to add any liquid. The nuts will turn into a very thick and crumbly paste before eventually starting to release their natural oils and turn into nut butter.

RAW CASHEW BUTTER

  • 1 packet Tasti Raw Cashews (2 cups)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste (or extract)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

For this recipe there is no need to roast the nuts first. Simply add all of the ingredients into a food processor and blitz as per the recipe above.

 

SPICY WALNUT BUTTER

  • 1 packet Tasti Walnut Pieces (2.5 cups)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • pinch ground cloves
  • pinch of cayenne pepper

Roast in the oven at 180 degrees for around 10 minutes or until slightly brown. When cool, transfer nuts to a food processor and process on high until smooth and creamy. Add in spices and continue processing until well combined. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
