Carine Roitfeld, the former editor of French Vogue, made a splash last September when she launched her very own fashion mag CR. Now she is set to launch her second issue on February 21 in Europe and February 28 in the states. Simply titled “Issue 2″, the fashion glossy features ballet star Sergei Polunin and dance legend Jacques d’Amboise on the cover.

Roitfeld, who has also just revealed her debut spread as the global fashion director at Harper’s Bazaar, says:

“I’m obsessed with the body of the ballet dancer, obsessed with the music and obsessed with the Russian tradition in ballet. When you are a dancer, you don’t get money. You do it because you love it. It’s so pure and beautiful — the freedom, the movement, the gestures.”

Before the new issue has even landed it is coming under fire for not carrying as much advertising pages as the first issue. However, the print run on the mag has increased so I’m sure it’s more about sour grapes than the mag not actually selling well.

Sadly getting your hands on a copy of CR in New Zealand isn’t going to be easy but your best bet is probably visiting the CR website here.
