WTF Is A Bullet Journal And Why You Need One
Bullet Journals seem to be taking over the internet at the moment so we decided to find out a little bit more about these new designer diaries. In a nutshell, a bullet journal is basically a modern day Filofax and a highly stylised way of organising your life. You may be a little sceptical about investing so much time into something where a standard diary would suffice but here’s the kicker! The whole idea behind bullet journals is you also get to indulge your creative side while you organise your thoughts. It’s a little like the evolution of the adult colouring-in phase. Remember how everyone was colouring-in as a way to relax and unwind? Well those colouring-in books are being replaced by plain pages where you create the content.
Now don’t worry if you’re hand writing isn’t great or you’re not very creative – there are plenty of bullet journaling hacks to help you through and we’ve also found these fab FREE PRINTABLES which are super cute and can be cut out and glued into your journal.
But to give you a better idea of what bullet journaling entails then take a few minutes to watch this gorgeous video below. It had us heading straight out to stock up on journals once we watched it.
The below video is another style of bullet journal that is also really inspiring however it does require quite a bit more creativity to pull off. Take a look and you’ll see what we mean.
1. Get the right equipment. A plain notebook and some basic marker pens is really all you need to get started.
2. There’s a basic formula for keeping track of things (see the videos above) but you can really make your bullet journal your own and include lists for tracking your workouts, your food intake, books you’d like to read – everything and anything you want. The beauty of bullet journaling is that you get to personalise it.
3. Get planning. There are tonnes of videos like the ones above on YouTube for inspiration and Pinterest also has a tonne of ideas to get your started on your own bespoke diary.
Have you tried bullet journaling before? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments below.
