The silver lining to more clouds in the sky is the notion of snuggling up warm in new season winter woolies. Winter coats and jackets are a staple in any wardrobe and to help you stay ahead of the curve I’ve rounded up a few of my favourites that are perfect for every occasion.

To showcase the looks I picked up a selection of gorgeous new season coats and jackets from Jane Daniels. The new Jane Daniels collection is absolutely beautiful and it’s inspired by Jane’s recent travels through St Petersburg and Moscow. Luxe fabrics are pretty embellishments are used to create timeless pieces with a stylish, modern twist.

So take a look at my top eight new season coats and jackets for every occasion in the video below and scroll down for all the details.

Pale pink coats are set to be the outerwear du jour this season. While it can often be hard to muster the enthusiasm to wear anything other than black when it gets chilly, once you see the pretty pinks on offer you’ll want to make the change.

It’s safe to say a good black blazer will never let you down – it goes with almost any work outfit and will double as the perfect piece to pull off a simple smart casual outfit. This single item is a wardrobe game-changer and a piece that’s worth investing a little more in to ensure a great fit.

Embellished jackets show no signs of waning and that’s because they are timeless and will sit comfortably in your wardrobe for many years. They will take a pair of jeans and a simple white tee from zero to hero in an instant and are also a perfect go-to evening jacket.

The new style of anorak is a cross between an anorak and a trench making it a great everyday coverup. I particularly love this style from Jane Daniels as the tie detail gives it shape and the waterfall lapels create the illusion of length – winning!

If you want to cover up in style for many years to come it’s worth investing in a quality coat that will keep you warm while making a stylish statement. The best thing about a statement coat is regardless of what you wear underneath, you’ll always look smart. Simply add a wooly scarf and you’re good to go.

If you want to kick your style up a notch then it’s time to add a cape to your winter wardrobe. Whether it’s a simple cozy addition to your season staples or worn as a glam addition to an evening outfit – you’ll be surprised at how versatile a cape can be.

Mesh has fast become a fashion favourite among designers, fashion bloggers and street style stars. In fact, the see-through lightweight fabric – most often associated with sporty staples – is the hottest new trend in outerwear. A mesh jacket or coat is a modern addition to any wardrobe and is the perfect trans-seasonal layering piece.

There’s a reason we always reach for our trusty biker jacket – it works! While a traditional biker is leather, modern styles are being released in lightweight stretch fabrics for added comfort. Biker jackets are great for giving a harder edge to feminine fabrics and look fab worn over lightweight dresses and skirts.
