Hi I’m Leonie.

The Style Insider is the blog I started when I said goodbye to my job as editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly magazine in May 2012. Having spent almost 20-years working in magazines, with 12 of those editing a selection of New Zealand magazines including Fashion Quarterly, CLEO, SHE, and New Idea, it was time for me to try something new.

I’ve spent years asking editors, models, makeup artists and industry experts for their personal fashion and beauty tips and now I want to share these insider secrets with you.

I’m always being asked about what happens on “the inside” of the magazine world and now I can share all the exciting details with you here.

When I’m not writing this blog I’m mum to two boys, Guy is nine and Jed is seven. I’m married to someone who saves the world (he’s a fire fighter) and we met when he sent me a letter-to-the-editor asking me out on a blind date (I’ll tell you the full story one day). We also have a rescue cat called River who I affectionately refer to now as The Insider’s Offsider because she loves curling up in a ball at my feet when I’m blogging.
